Different types of cigars in the market

September 9, 2020

Tobacco can be consumed in many different ways, and Cigars are one of the oldest and best ways among them. When you go out in the market to buy a cigar, you are often confused by the variety you see. Also, there are different cigars in the market, which are different in size, flavor, intensity, aroma, and much more. The different types of cigars are also meant to be used by different types of people. Not all the cigar users are used to smoking original long and thick cigars with a very strong and raw taste. Also, someone who is used to smoking cigarettes mainly goes for little cigars, which are not as strong as an original sized cigar but have a punch. Cigars are tobacco wrapped in the tobacco leaf and not in paper or other material as in a cigarette. Cigars can be divided into three major categories: some of the most commonly used cigars in the world.

Large Cigar

It is the original wide and long cigar that you buy from the market. These are the oldest type or original style of cigar that has been manufactured since the beginning. These cigars have large tobacco leaves that wrap the tobacco inside. Such cigars’ flavor and aroma are very strong and earthy and are not meant for someone who normally smokes cigarettes. Typically a cigar contains one-half ounces of aged tobacco or more and takes around 1-2 hours to smoke a complete cigar. These cigars are very premium in terms of quality and are considered one of the best types of cigars if you want to taste the genuine and authentic cigar flavor.

Cigarillo

Cigarillo is very similar to a cigar in terms of shape but is shorter in size. These are normally meant for people who want to taste cigars in terms of flavor but do not want something as big or strong as a normal cigar. Cigarillo stands perfectly between cigarettes and a cigar and can provide the user with both worlds’ best. It is lighter than a long cigar but does not compromise on flavor. It might not be as rich in smoke as a cigar but still provides a beautiful earthy flavor each time you smoke the flavor. These, along with cigars, have over 95% of the market share when it comes to cigar smokers.

Little cigars

When it comes to little cigars, they are different from what you expect from a cigar. It was specially made for cigarette smokers, who wanted a similar mouth to hand feel from a little cigar and wanted the different flavors. It is a great starting choice for people who are trying to move from cigarettes to cigars. It would be a perfect way to transition slowly from cigarettes as little cigars are almost the same size as a cigarette and also comes with a filter like a cigarette, which is missing in all kinds of cigars.

Conclusion

These are the three basic cigars that you will mostly find in an offline and online shop. With the clear differentiation between the two, you would have to understand which one you should select. I would suggest the large cigar in case you are looking for a rich experience and Cigarillo if you are looking for something between cigarettes and cigars. If you want to stick with cigarettes and still want to try something new, then little cigars would be the best choice. To read more on topics like this, check out the blog category.
