Benefits For Interns: Find Out What The Company Can Offer

December 23, 2020

How important is it to include trainees in your company’s benefits management?

Since they are not mandatory, it is very common to raise doubts about the real need to include interns in the benefits management of any company. However, making this choice can bring very interesting results, both in the short and long term.

The first of these group benefits involves the satisfaction of employees and interns in general. Still, by granting benefits that are not mandatory, they will be more aware that the company is concerned with the health and well-being of all and demonstrates this, guaranteeing access to benefits such as food stamps, meals or health or dental insurance.

In the long run, this concern can turn into a significant improvement in the interns’ perception of the company. Thus, when they become trained professionals, they will always look at this place of work with good eyes, whether for effectiveness, or even for future selection processes.

Therefore, inserting the interns now in the company’s benefit plans is to invest in the qualification of the employees of the future, ensuring more productivity and better returns, in a market that increasingly requires more qualified professionals.

How to include interns in your company’s benefits management?

A very common concern with those who want to integrate trainees into benefits management is whether this action would go against current legislation or even indicate the existence of an employment relationship between the parties, which, as we said earlier, is not the objective of any internship vacancy.

The answer to both questions is no! Providing additional benefits to the intern does not contravene the Internship Law, which only regulates the minimum conditions of the relationship between interns and companies, nor constitutes a labor relationship.

Therefore, the decision to provide such benefits depends only on the choice of the company. Thus, it can present more interesting vacancies by announcing them with a series of additional ones that will certainly be a differential in the market, attracting the best talents still in training.

In short, forecasting the benefits for trainees tends to be the right choice for any company, which will see its reputation and the satisfaction of employees and trainees always high and will become a better place where future talent from the market will be able to work professionally. So don’t think twice about including interns in your benefit plan.
