Buying a screen is a responsible thing to do. It isn’t the kind of gadget that we change once a year. So we have to choose it seriously. But which one should we choose? What Is Screen Resolution
The display of a modern monitor is a composite matrix, the main components of which are pixels. These are physical objects consisting of red, green and blue elements and are capable of transmitting any color and shade.
Actually, resolution is the monitor’s ability to display an image with a certain number of points vertically and horizontally. So, if the resolution value is 1920×1080, that means there are 1920 pixels across the width and 1080 pixels across the height.
It’s important to understand that monitors of different sizes may have the same resolution set, but the final picture will look different. It directly depends on the diagonal of the monitor. With a high resolution on a small screen, the pixel density will be higher and as a consequence, the image will be more detailed. But depending on how far away you are from the display and what tasks behind it, it may not always be important.
Therefore, there is no single standard that would be universal for all scenarios of use. But there are some designations you need to know from which to start. These are the same markings that are shown on the boxes with monitors and often on stickers on their cases:
- HD Ready – 1280×720. This format is getting old. Screens with this resolution are often bought for work, but they can still be useful for some daily tasks, like betting at 22Bet Chile or chatting with friends.
- Full HD – 1920×1080. It’s probably the most popular resolution at the moment. Full HD screens are used by 64% of Steam users, the most popular platform for video game fans. These monitors are also suitable for working with graphics.
- 4K, also known as Ultra HD, – 3840×2160. In the future it would replace Full HD, but it would probably not happen that soon. However, screens with such resolution are often expensive.
Why a Good Resolution Is Important
There are two important reasons why choosing a monitor screen resolution is important. And one is a consequence of the other.
First, increasing and decreasing the resolution will increase the readability of the information displayed on the screen. For example, if you set the resolution too high on a small diagonal – for example, 4K on a 22-inch screen – the font will be small. There should be a second reason why a normal monitor screen resolution is very important: Your vision, and therefore your health, literally depends on it. Your eye muscles will always be under a lot of stress, which doesn’t bode well. The problem of diagonal resolution mismatch is solved by regular means, such as scaling, but they will have to spend extra iron power, which can be used more rationally.
