Top Tips for Selecting the Proper Fencing Solution for Your Business or Commercial Property

Any business or commercial property may hold several valuable assets, be it your stock or inventory or your sales profits, employees’ salaries, and so on. Of course, your staff is your number one asset, and it is up to you to make sure all of them are safe and protected whilst they are on your premises. But whatever security solutions you decide to have, proper fencing is probably one of your top priorities. Fencing isn’t just about the aesthetic appeal and looks of your property – it is, more importantly, about security and protection. But if you are thinking about setting up or improving your property’s fencing, it pays to make the right decision. It is, after all, an investment, and you want your investment to bring a good return. Here, then, are some top tips for selecting the proper fencing solution for your business or commercial property.

  • Get to know your options

You have more than a few options regarding proper fencing, and fencing materials can range from timber to metal and even PVC. But if you are considering the best security for your business property, metal fencing may be ideal. This is because it’s not just tough and strong – it also has a longer lifespan than other fencing materials. Whilst timber or wooden fencing will usually come with a guarantee of up to 5 years, many metal fences come with guarantees of 10 years, even more.

You can also choose from a wide array of styles, such as chain link fencing. Chain link fencing has long been a popular fencing choice for various commercial properties, and you’ll often find it around colleges and schools as well as industrial facilities. Mesh fences are also a typical style of metal fencing, and it is solid and robust yet allows you to get a good view of your property and see if anyone is trying to get in.

  • Think about additional security

Whilst metal fencing is already an inherently good choice, professional fencing contractors in Birmingham like RTC Fencing recommend you think about additional security as well. In other words, you can enhance your fence with extra features to make it much more robust and more secure. For example, razor wire is popular, and so are steel palisades (which look like picket fences with spikes on top) that may also look attractive and be a suitable fit for your property’s facade.

You can also make use of barriers to augment your fencing solution. You can place them in strategic areas such as entrances and exits and areas that are prohibited or only for authorised personnel.

  • Consider the gates

The gates of your fencing solution will also make an impact, and it’s crucial for you to choose suitable gates. The gates you choose should be a good match for the fence’s theme, so if you have a metal fencing solution, it’s best to opt for metal gates. You can also choose extra features with your gates to improve business security. For example, you can select automatic gates, and these gates will only open with a trigger or when a person manually triggers them. You can choose to have automatic bollards as well, and these have been proven effective at prohibiting vehicles from entering where they are not allowed.
