Gamers React to Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone: Season Two Reloaded Updates

May 13, 2022

It’s a fact of life that you can’t please everyone 100% of the time. However, avid video game players seem to be pretty happy with the recent updates to Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone games. “The new 12 player versus 12 player mode for Vanguard is wild. It’s my new favorite way to play Call of Duty,” says Pittsburgh-based gamer Jay Hollister. Here’s what to expect from Season Two Reloaded, which is presented by Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games, Treyarch, and Beenox.

In that 24-player mode of Vanguard, Hollister particularly enjoyed the new map. “It’s a huge map of the Alps, and players are forced to fight their way across the frigid snow-covered terrain,” he explains. Gamers can make the trek either on foot or by utilizing one of the game’s new vehicles, including a motorbike, tank, and squad vehicle. The goal of the game? Capture all of the bases. “The new 24-player mode is probably the most difficult and intense game experience I’ve had, but I’m hooked,” the longtime video game enthusiast says.

Inside Look at Activision Blizzard’s Call of Duty Updates

The Vanguard Season Two Reloaded game also features an updated ranking system. The best 250 players worldwide are invited to enter a skill division higher than Challenger. In addition, weapon camos, sprays, and charms are part of the new ranked rewards. Those rewards will be presented at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, in Warzone, numerous aspects of Rebirth Island have been updated, including the Stronghold mission. This refreshed Warzone version also introduces an entirely new mission named Dock. According to Activision Blizzard, a weekly Rebirth playlist will feature the three modes that have been revamped. “The coolest part is that players can start with an extra life when the Rebirth meter is already activated in the Resurgence solo mode,” shares longtime New Jersey-based gamer Thomas Lupfer. “Although the Redeploy Balloons have found their way to Rebirth island, which is so cool. But players should be aware that they have a much shorter ascender cable, which seems to mean I cover less ground with them across the island.”

According to Activision Blizzard, “From a new mode featuring vehicular combat to Rebirth Island’s biggest update since its launch, Operators may need to call for backup even with all of Task Force Yeti on the scene.”

The developers also brought back Payload as a 12 player versus 12 player event. “Three full squads can steer their truck through the map,” explains Lupfer. And the final new mode the video game franchise introduced is Plunder, which guarantees players impressive cash prizes even if the defeated operator is penniless.

Rapper Snoop Dogg makes an appearance in Season Two Reloaded as an optional operator. “The addition of Snoop Dogg might just be the coolest thing Call of Duty has ever done,” says Lupfer. Fo shizzle.

Call of Duty Rises to the Challenge for Nearly 20 Years

Activision Blizzard published the original Call of Duty in October 2002. The first-person shooter game was created by Infinity Ward and gave gamers the opportunity to battle as part of a simulated infantry during World War II.

Today it’s one of the world’s bestselling combat video game franchises. It’s spawned more than a dozen versions, including Black Ops, Infinite Warfare, and Ghosts, as well as the esports Call of Duty League and even a nonprofit, The Call of Duty Endowment, which helps returning veterans in the United States and the United Kingdom find decent jobs after completing their tour of duty.
