How can I improve the longevity of my pillows?

May 19, 2022

Pillows are one of the few things on your bed that you will find changing often. In part, this is because with time the pillows you are using will lose their shape and thus, will become less pleasant to sleep on. However, if you have invested money into buying good quality pillows seeing them destroyed so quickly can be disheartening. This is why you might want to try using a pillow protector to help your pillows last longer.

So, what are the benefits of using a pillow protector?

1. Helps retain pillow shape

Pillow protectors, like the Everlasting Comfort Waterproof pillow covers, are usually made of thicker more tightly woven fabric. As a result, they are not as malleable as normal pillow covers or pillowcases. This means that while you might be able to change the shape of your pillow, for the most part, your pillow will retain its natural shape for a longer time. This is important as the loss of structure is one of the most common reasons why people change their pillows. By avoiding that, you can keep your pillow for a long time without having to sacrifice the quality of your sleep.

2. Stops feather leaks

If you have feather pillows, then you will know everything about feather leaks. Feeling something poking you as you sleep is by no means pleasant, but what is even more unpleasant is realizing after a few months that all of the fullness of your pillow is now long gone. With a pillow cover, you can help ensure that does not happen. The pillow cover does not only protect your pillow from damages caused by external factors, but because it is thicker it will also limit the number of leaves that can escape from your pillow. This is a big reason why many feather pillow owners choose to use a pillow protector.

3. Stop it from getting dirty

Finally, your pillow protector will stop your pillow from getting stains. Generally, pillows that are washed frequently will lose their plushness and shape so by avoiding having to clean your pillow and keeping it clean with a pillow cover you are maintaining its original condition without having to worry about how hygienic it is. This is one of the most important reasons to have a pillow protector as anyone might find themselves sweating through the night.

Having a pillow protector on your pillow can help your pillows last a lot longer. From keeping them clean to helping them better retain their shape the benefits of pillow protectors extend far beyond your pillow as they can help you get a better night’s sleep. You will also be able to invest in nicer pillows that you can keep in the long run, thus allowing you to not have to buy pillows as frequently. This is why taking steps to ensure the longevity of your pillows can have positive effects on both your health and your wallet.
