Black Clover quickly became one of the most popular animes in recent years. It has around 160 episodes (and counting!), with people hoping the anime will surpass One Piece’s episode count (over 900).
If you haven’t heard about Black Clover, here’s the gist of it – it’s the story of two boys who live in a world where pretty much everyone has magic. One of the boys was surprisingly born without any magic, and the two compete to see which one of them can first become the Wizard King.
There’s more to it than that short description (which doesn’t really do it justice), but we don’t have enough room to get into it. The story, voice acting (Japanese), characters, and animation are just superb. Just be sure to stick around until the fifth or sixth episode – that’s when it gets really good!
Of course, before you can even think of watchingBlack Clover, you probably want to know if this anime is available on Netflix.
Yes, it is, but unfortunately you can’t watch it worldwide. It’s actually only available in a few countries. We’ll tell you which ones in this article, and show you how to watch this show anywhere in the world.
Where Is Black Clover Available on Netflix?
The best way to find that out is to use StreamCatcher, a Netflix library checker from ProPrivacy (a popular tech review website). It shows you where you can watch specific Netflix titles. In the case of Black Clover, you can apparently watch the show in Japan, South Korea, and India.
It’s very likely that the anime is available in other countries too. What you see on StreamCatcher are the locations the devs thoroughly tested to make sure the information is 100% accurate. We verified their claims with a VPN (we’ll get to that in a bit) and can confirm they’re true.
Obviously, if you know where else this Netflix title is available, we’d be happy to know. So please let us know in the comments.
How Can You Unblock Black Clover on Netflix?
To bypass Netflix’s geo-blocking system, you need to make the site believe you’re connecting from a country where the anime is available.
That sounds really complicated, but it really isn’t. To hide your geo-location, you just need to hide your IP address. And to do that, you have to use a VPN. It’s an online service that hides your IP by routing your traffic through a VPN server. The connection to Netflix will look like this:
Device 🡪 ISP Network 🡪 VPN Server 🡪 Netflix
Netflix won’t know your traffic is coming from your device. Instead, it’ll think it’s coming from the VPN server. Since connection requests contain information like IP addresses, that means Netflix will associate your data with the VPN’s IP address.
Quick Note about Watching Black Clover on Netflix
You should know that Netflix doesn’t have the whole anime. Right now, it seems that there are only 103 episodes on Netflix. That’s quite a bit short of the total number of 160 episodes.
We’re not sure why Netflix doesn’t have all the episodes, though it might be because they don’t have the licensing rights for them yet.
In case you know that the rest of the episodes are available in a different country, please mention that in the comments (or just message us directly).
How to Use a VPN to Watch Black Clover on Netflix
It shouldn’t take you more than two or three minutes to start watching this anime with a VPN. Here’s what you need to do:
- Sign up for a VPN account. We personally love using NordVPN since it always worked well for us.
- From the account’s dashboard, download the appropriate VPN app for your platform.
- Install the app, run it, and use it to connect to a Japanese server. You get more episodes compared to using an Indian or South Korea server.
- Log into your Netflix account, search for Black Clover, and start having fun with it!
Where Can You Watch the Rest of Black Clover?
You can watch the other episodes on Crunchyroll. You might have to use a VPN if the anime isn’t available in your country. Also, while the platform is free to use, you’ll have to deal with ads. You can get rid of them by upgrading to a paid subscription, but we don’t really think it’s worth it.
Why?
Well, maybe this is only an issue we’re experiencing, but the load times on Crunchyroll are pretty bad. We often have to wait up to 30 seconds or more for the next part of the episode to load. Considering there are over 50 episodes to go once you finish watching on Netflix, that’s not very ideal.
If you too experience that problem, there’s a better alternative – VRV. It’s another free streaming site where you can watch all the Black Clover episodes. Funny enough, the site gets the content from Crunchyroll through its dedicated channel. Despite that, we saw much better load times on VRV. Best of al – there were no ads (yes, we were using a free account)!
Just keep in mind you’ll need to use a VPN if you’re not in the US. As far as we know, VRV only works in that country. The good news is that VRV doesn’t aggressively block VPNs like Netflix, so pretty much any VPN will do. We’d still recommend getting a paid one instead of a free VPN to enjoy faster speeds and unlimited bandwidth.
